James "Tex" & Shelley Texeira | Lead Pastors

Founding pastors of SRM, Tex and Shelley are determined to see God do extraordinary things using ordinary people. They are committed to build people that make a significant difference in their spheres of influence. Tex and Shelley have four grown boys of whom three are married. They also have nine grandchildren. When not at work, they can be found riding their Harley or shopping or traveling or relaxing at home. Of course, Tex loves to eat and is stimulating the economy by frequenting local eateries. They reside in Kailua Kona.

Brian Shiroma | Member Care Pastor

Brian oversees discipling programs here at SRM. He directs Rock Academy, our dicipleship arm which holds classes on Wednesday night. He is also the lead person for our Chazown Weekends, where people find their God-given purpose for their lives. Sunday Night Prayer is also under Brian's direction.Brian resides in Holualoa with his wife, Marilyn, and daughter Hannah. He is an avid runner, who loves to challenge himself to do things that cause growth. He also makes one mean cup of coffee!

Koa Texeira | Adult Care Pastor

As the Adult Care Pastor, Koa oversees the Men's, Women's, Young Adults and Internship Ministries. These ministries are designed to help people fulfill their call in a peer setting.Koa is married to Kyler and have three sons. He loves to cook and the boys love to eat. So it works out well.When they have time off, Koa loves to play sports, especially basketball and Kyler loves to buy containers at Target.

Nolan Hing | Family Ministries Pastor

Here at SRM, family is very important. We want to make sure we disciple you in the things of God from birth. Family Ministries does this. Kidz World, CREW Youth Department, Marriage and Parenting are all part of this process. Nolan Hing is the one directing these ministries.Nolan and his team have a vision to do this and are excited to have a part in the next generation becoming leaders in the church.Nolan and his wife, Kau'i, have three children and reside in Kailua Kona. He is an awesome cook and makes a dressing that will "broke da mouth"!

Kai Adarna | Worship/Media

There is a lot that goes into making sure our services help people find their God-given purpose and disciple them to fulfill it. That's where Kai and his team come in. Everything from the ushers to the music to the media that goes out from SRM are under his direction.He is a talented, funny guy that has a great outlook on life. He is also a great song writer. Kai and his wife Lara live in Kailua Kona. They have four sons and a daughter. When they aren't doing anything, which never happens, they like to enjoy the Hawaiian way of living. That's right, eat and sleep.

Shirley Araki | Outreach

Outreach to our community is very big here at SRM. From the weekly feeding the houseless of Kona, to the major events such as our annual Easter Egg Hunt or the Candyland outreach, being a significant part of Kona is vitally important to our church.Shirley Araki makes sure we are doing our part in our community. She makes sure all the outreach directors are on the same page and that our "voice" is clear in our town.Shirley is married to Jesse, head of our Conquerors in Christ, addictions ministry. Jesse and Shirley also own their own auto body repair shop. When not working Shirley likes to veg out and relax. They live in Kailua Kona and have two sons.

Events

Ministries MinistriesSolid Rock Ministries offers a variety of ministries and activities throughout the week. Here are just a few.Rock Academy takes place on Wednesday nights here at SRM Kona. In keeping with our mission , Rock Academy disciples people with classes that range from Basic Bile knowledge to finances to a life of service. Click on the Rock Academy tab for more iformation. Manna Ministries take care of the "houseless" of Kona by doing weekly feedings in the park and also by running the SRM Food Pantry. Interested in reaching the less fortunate, call the office for details.Conquerors in Christ ministers to people who have drug or alcohol challenges. Only Jesus can effectively deliver people out of this type of bondage. Call the office for information. All inquiries are confidential.Transportation makes sure no one misses our services because they had no way to get there. Led by Cheyenne and Kelly Gaspar, this vitally important ministry is really a first touch ministry of SRM. Want to get involved? Call them at 808.895.3411 Need a ride? Call the office.Hula classes are available here at SRM. From the keiki (children) to adults instruction in the art of hula is held every week. Call the church office for more information.

Events Events Throughout the years, SRM has developed several events that have become Kona events. We have a heart for our hometown and love to give back to the community that we are a part of. Here are our yearly events.Kona's Biggest Egg Hunt This egg hunt is held annually on the Saturday before Easter. Over 40,000 candy filled eggs are spread on the field in 4 age categories. It's a rush more than a hunt. In addition to the eggs, prizes are given away including bicycles, Wii, body boards and gift certificates. Refreshments are always available and the entire event is free! On the Friday before Easter, the CREW also does a Egg Rush for all teens. It's a rush!!School Supplies Every year before the start of another school year, SRM gives school supplies to the families that need help. Applications for the supplies are handed out at school and bags are made for these families. Between 700-800 children receive these much needed school supplies. We also send school supplies to the island of Niihau to help families there on our northernmost island.Ironman Triathlon What a fantastic opportuniy to be involved in a community wide event. The Ironman is an event that showcases the spirit of the volunteer. The entire race, which by the way is the World Championship, is put on by thousands of volunteers and we are a part of that massive team. It's a testimony of the spirit of Kona and it also helps our economy with not only athletes but spectators bringing money into our town. So mark your calendars for October and volunteer for our aid station. That's our Kona!Rocktoberfest The CREW, our youth ministry, hosts this event every Halloween for the youth of Kona. It's a safe environment and lots of fun. Costume contests, talent contests and refreshments are all part of the night. Check out the CREW website for more details.Candyland This is our Halloween outreach for the entire family. Held at the Old Airport Park, the event offers free everything. A life size Candyland maze, free food, free entertainment, and free fun! Lots of prizes, contests and jumpers and rock climbing wall are at this event. In 2009, over 4000 people attended.

Bill and Kim Snider are missionaries with the Assemblies of God in the Philippines. Bill is the Director of Asia Pacific Media Ministries , whose mission is to empower national churches in Asia and the Pacific Islands to use and produce media tools for evangelism and to disciple believers. AP Media works with individuals and churches throughout the region including Indonesia, Singapore, Mongolia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, Taiwan, China and into a number of island nations in the South Pacific. Bill has over 34 years in Christian media.

Joe and Yuriko Reynolds attended SRM Kona for many years before heading for Japan as SRM missionaries. They have been building relationships in Japan through teaching English and hula. They currently lead an international service they started two years ago at Tokyo Hope Chapel.

Anders and Jess Eriksen serve with Youth With A Mission in Perth, Australia . Jess grew up in SRM and has been with YWAM since 2002. Anders and Jess both lead Discipleship Training Schools (DTS), teaching and discipling young believers, helping them to grow in faith, character, ministry and leadership. They lead outreach teams into various nations throughout the Indian Ocean region, including Asia and Africa.

Terry and Jackie Mize represent over 30 years of marriage, ministry, missions, and miracles.

Terry is known as the Pastors Friend because of his undying commitment to the local Church. Pastor Jackie has been dubbed Mother of the World with so many wonderful testimonies of couples having children due to her ministry.

When not overseas traveling the continents, they are ministering in Churches, Bible Schools and conventions, in the United States.

Terry and Jackie founded the Jackie Mize International Childrens Foundation in 2000 to help children across the world. Terry and Jackie have a childrens home in India as well as an orphanage in Romania. Outstanding healings and miracles are prominent in their ministry as they teach the integrity of Gods Word. Chi Alpha University of Hawaii

Journeying alone can be an adventure but journeying with friends is much more fun. Come embark on this journey of spirituality with us!

Chi Alpha Campus Ministries is a Christian campus ministry on the University of Hawaii. We are a movement of college-age men and women earnestly following Jesus. We are not a fraternity or sorority. We invite everyone to be a part, regardless of background.

We meet on campus in groups of varying size and style. These gatherings are informal, infused with music and interaction, and cover topics from relationships to the nature of truth. These meetings are opportunities for students to meet God, each other, and the needs of their community.

Paul and Doreen Chinen our the founders and leaders of Holoholo DTS, a school that always has a great representation of Hawaii island people.

In addition to the DTS, the Chinens also have a work set up in Naga, Philippines and are working at developing a ESL school in Manila.

Their whole family is involved in their ministry even to their youngest daughter. They have a commitment to see the world changed by the power of God!

Along with his wife, Elizabeth, Dale Decker is our missionary to India. Having a heart for the people there, Dale now lives in India and continues to reach that nation for Jesus.

Dale is originally from Hawaii and is believing for all of India to be saved.

Many are turning to the Lord because of the commitment of the Deckers.

Dennis and Jo Fahringer serve with Youth With A Mission at the University of the Nations here in Kona, and have been part of SRM since 1993. Their ministry focus is training and mobilizing the next generation of

missionaries, helping young people of all ages fulfill their calling in God's kingdom as world changers.

Dennis leads the Schools of Photography, programs designed to inspire and train Christians to use photography as a

communication tool for the kingdom of God. Jo serves with the School of Biblical Studies, teaching students how to study the Bible, how to apply the truth to their lives for personal transformation and how to teach others to

do the same.

Allan and Dee Robbins serve as missionaries with YWAM. Called to equip skilled servant-leaders as nation disciplers in community transformation and to help establish them in some of the neediest and least-reached places on earth, Allan and Dee have a passion to integrate the Great Commandment and the Great Commission wherever they are. With a background in tropical medicine, Allan serves as the Intl. Associate Dean for Health Training with YWAM's University of the Nations, overseeing 25 training programs in 22 nations. He teaches internationally, training pastors and village health care workers and helping them establish community-based ownership of their own health. He helped found Water For Life Inst. which promotes practical approaches to Clean Water & Sanitation.

With a background in forestry, Dee has helped lead YWAM'sCommunity Development program and with Allan , loves to teach on worldview, the Kingdom of God and the Local Church & Development.

Allan and Dee have three children: Benjamin (12), Lydia (10), and Tabitha (6) and have served in various roles with SRM's youth since joining in 2002.

Jim and Linda Wellborn are missionaries assigned to the AIM Ministry of the National Youth Department . AIM stands for Ambassadors in Missions and is a program designed to take youth on missions trips.

Jim personally has taken youth to over 60 countries as AIM liason. With the AG being in over 250 nations, the possiblity for AIM trips are endless.

The Wellborns are based out of Springfield, Missouri.
